Assessing Internationally Educated Applicants: Canadian Experience and the Changing Legislative Landscape
In the context of increasing focus on equity, diversity and inclusion in the regulatory landscape, there is a growing trend towards legislation that will require regulators to consider new practices in relation to internationally educated applicants. Recent legislative direction includes plans to remove Canadian experience requirements, advance alternatives to assess required competencies, and align requirements across jurisdictions where possible.
