The Canadian Network of Agencies for Regulation (CNAR) is pleased to announce funding for research in professional regulation. The aim is to generate in-depth knowledge and insights that support Canadian regulatory bodies' mandate to protect the public interest. Research topics are based on priority areas identified by CNAR in consultation with its Members.
Presently, CNAR is seeking proposals for research in the area of quality assurance programs and continuing competence in professional regulation. The goal of the research is to provide Canadian regulatory bodies for health and non-health professions with insights about:
What makes for effective continuing competence and quality assurance programs?
What are best practices in assessing and measuring continuing competence?
The intent of the work is to contribute to and advance the knowledge of the Canadian professional regulatory community in this subject area. They can then consider, review and assess their own quality assurance programs in this context.
