'RISE' to Kind Leadership: How Kindness Inspires Inclusivity
In celebration of International Women's Day (IWD) and its goal to work towards a world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive, CNAR is extremely pleased to feature Dr. Bonnie Hayden Cheng, Associate Professor and MBA Program Director at the HKU Business School, Hong Kong University.
In alignment with IWD 2024's theme of inclusive leadership, Dr. Cheng will deliver a compelling presentation centred on how to “inspire inclusion.” Drawing on her work with organizations from around the world and most recent research about why kindness in leadership matters, attendees will:
Critically reflect on leadership behaviour and its impact on employee well-being
Unpack and demystify what “kind leadership” is really about, de-stigmatizing it as a “feminine” leadership trait
Learn about the RISE framework and its applications to shift towards “kind leadership” that is genderless
Explore the power of language in leadership and develop awareness of how the language that is often used reveals unconscious biases that hold women back - and learn how to pivot to avoid using such language
Attendees will be provided with actionable takeaways to apply in their own leadership and organizations. This will be an interactive event, with polling questions as well as a plenary Q&A.
Bonus! CNAR will provide registrants a link and coupon code at the event to receive 25% off their purchase of Dr. Cheng’s latest book The Return on Kindness: How Kind Leadership Wins Talent, Earns Loyalty, And Builds Successful Companies. The coupon code, available exclusively to attendees, will be valid from March 5th -19th, 2024.
Dr. Bonnie Cheng completed her PhD degree in organizational behaviour and human resources management from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Her research is dedicated to helping employees achieve and maintain well-being in the workplace. To read more about Dr. Cheng, please click HERE.
